Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Birds Gallery, week ending 10th August, 2012!An image from Tuesday. I always wanted to photograph this species, but never had any success thus far. That changed last week, when finally everything came together :)
They are rather common in eastern Australia, but kinda elusive.

Great shot Jan, perch BG and sharpness all looking good. Don't know about elusive, but certainly reluctant to come into the open and totally hyperactive!

Great photo Jan on a nice perch. They are not a shy or as you said elusive species and you wouldn't even need a hide in many locations where I live to photograph them. However, they are suckers for call playback. Works everytime.
