Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Wildlife Gallery, week ending 20th July, 2012!Tarsius tarsier from Tangkoko, Sulawesi. IUCN Vulnerable. They come out to feed at dusk. From the tech specs you can see it was already getting quite dark. Actually could almost fit the motif too, as they do live in trees!

Really nice portrait of this guy! The eyes are fascinating! He looks tiny. How big is he? I like to see the full tail, but I know how hard it is to do with a long tailed creature and still keep them large enough in the frame

Really nice photo of a wonderful animal. Frans Lanting had a nice photo of one of these creatures published in NG years ago.

looks a lot like our "bushbabies"...very cute Con. I'm not sure about the cut off tail but I know how hard it can be to fit primates in th frame, perhaps even a closer crop from the bottom will emphasise the face more and lessen the effect of the "amputated tail"?

You lucky dog. One of the creatures I was bummed to miss in March. I generally like the composition since you almost get Y shape with the tarsier and the trunk. I could also see it working with a placement slightly right in the frame, assuming that smaller branch and the background were clean to the left of course.

Superb image of this tiny Tarsier! It would be nice to have something in the shot as a size comparison to give an indication of just how small these wonderful little 4-5 ounce creatures really are. The only nit is the tail but the techs are excellent and the detail exquisite! Well done!

Oh if this isn't one of the cutest faces I've seen! Those big eyes and cute nose, wow. Love that you can see those interesting fingers and toes that look like little suction cups. This is delightful.
