Had a chance to photograph late this afternoon in Rocky Mountain National Park...

Nikon D1x, 200-400 VR, ISO 640, Shutter 1/80, f6.3
Cropped approx 15% on the right.....

Thanks for looking!

That is a fine animal and a very nice shot. I just whish the light coloured thing beside the tree was behind the tree out of sight.

An awesome animal, great light and I like the color in the vegetation. My only wish is that you had not cut-off the legs.

Beautiful shot! My only nit is wanting enough room for the legs. 8) 8) 8) :)

Bob,

Nice Bull. Looks like despite the heat there are some good bulls down this year. I hope this guy sticks around...I will be there all of next week. :)

I think I know those trees! I don't mind the cut legs that much and the over the shoulder looks makes the shot. :)

I really like the colors and shape of the Elk but the clutter around the rump detracts IMO.

Nice shot. My only nit is the missing space for the virtual legs.

Gorgeous pose and colors in the shot. The elk looks very regal! I do wish for just the tiniest bit more on the bottom of the frame to make room for the "virtual" feet. Still, excellent photo!
