Rhino poaching increased dramatically in South Africa over the past few years. And park officials resort to the only available option, dehorning. Is this the legacy we want our children to inherit?

While ignorance and greed rule, its at least preferable to them dying a horrible death and being butchered for their horn but I agree, its not a situation that should prevail, let alone increase Eric.

You should post the link in the Environment, conservation and ethics forum as well.

Well done, like the composition and the b&w conversion. Agree it is sad to think of all the wildlife we are losing to the greed of others, wether it is a rhino or tiger it is sad that more can not be done.

Unfortunately as long as there is a market the greed will continue, I'm afraid. Hate to see the dehorning but as Carol said it beats the alternative.
That said, this is really a moving image. The b/w conversion emphasizes the textures and the horn, and gives an air of melancholy to the animal. Really nice work.
