The Zambezi river is quite shallow in places and the animals that can, regularly cross from Mana Pools in Zimbabwe to the Zambia side.

This buff was halfway across and heading for that little bank of vegetation for a snack. A very brave Egyptian Goose stood his ground for as long as he dared then got out of the way :

Dave,
Nice shot, great light and you even have the crossing guard in front of the buffalo. I wonder what it would look like with less foreground water and the top of the grasses.

ROFL! Looking at the thumbnail and title, I presumed it was a bison rather than a cape buffalo, so I've been sitting here wondering how on earth did an Egyption goose come to play with a bison!

As it stands, it's just about as funny! Only wish is for the buffalo to be angled a touch more toward you.

I'm presuming that you didn't get any ground-level shots of buffalo. ;)
