Taken up near Bond Falls in Upper Michigan.

Pentax 645NII medium format, 45-85mm, Fuji Velvia 100F

For this shot, I composed with the rapids going off diagonally in the frame. The overhanging tree and the Fall color in the BG are other points to draw your eye.

Thought, hates, ponderings?

I like the diagonal comp, and the water exposure looks great. I also think the mist in the upper left corner balances nicely with the darker area in the lower right.

I really like the shutter speed you chose for this. The water cascading off the rocks has enough sharpness and blends into the blurred pool. For me a very relaxing image.

Regards,
Bill

Beautiful Ken! The leaves at the top really balance this one well. What sort of shutter speed did you use to get the water just right?

Lovely image Ken, the different layers, angles and falls all come together to make a very pleasing shot. Nice one! 8) 8) 8) :)

A very pleasing image. Nice highlights and good depth created here. Love the splash of red in the upper corner.

Gerg, I think it was about 1-3 seconds.

I think this is wonderful Ken, as most all your shots are. I really like the diagonal composition, and the water is just absolutely wonderful. I think the varied colors of the leaves in the overhanging tree and the distant reds and oranges etc add a lot to the shot as well.
