Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Landscapes Gallery, week ending 27th April, 2012!hi all,

it's been a long, long time since my last post. i've been traveling for the past few months and just returned 2 weeks ago.

this image was taken on one of our last days in patagonia, before we returned home. i took it near a ranger station/campsite in a relatively unknown national park called "Parque Nacional Perito Moreno". despite it's name this park is NOT the home of the famous Perito Moreno Glacier. the park is located about 300km north of the glacier and is only visited by about 1.200 persons a year (whereas the glacier welcomes up to 100.000 visitors only in january). at the time we where there, we were the only visitors.

thanks for taking the time to look!
c&c are very welcome,

Outstanding image. I like the color saturation and the sharp contrast. The clouds and their various colors set the image apart.

Love those stacked lenticular clouds.....very cool!
Great processing too!
I also really like the colors and the f/g but I find the f/g rocks seem to blend in with the b/g.

Wow great textures, colors, and sky and amazing job balancing the exposure. The processing on this is superb. Expert use of the ND grad too, I can't even tell its there.

Must have been quite surreal to have the place all to yourselves! The rock formations on the right hand side hold some really interesting patterns and detail, they work well as a focal point. As mentioned the "stacked" effect of the clouds is really neat!
