Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Photo and Digital Art Gallery, week ending 30th March, 2012!Canon 5DM2, 70-200 f4IS zoomed 70-200, f8, 10s, ISO 320, taken long after sunset.
PP: cropped to put center of zoom in lower left, split toned with highlights slightly towards cyan and shadows towards red.

Subject was tree stumps in water with conifer trees across the river. I have mixed feelings about the image, but it keeps me wondering and playing with the PP.

The center of the zoom looks like light rays.

If the BG shore was cropped of, I could imagine it was a cityscape :)

Very creative image Douglas -- I like this a lot. I also like the idea to crop to an apocalyptic cityscape, which would also look great in BW. Terrific idea and image!

Thanks, Gary. I have experimented with B&W. Making a B&W out of the split toned version is also interesting.

I think this is terrific , either way, tho I do love those blues. It's quite mystical, I feel, with a lot of depth and room for interpretation. Well done- thanks for posting. 8)

Hi

I was thinking about some sort of zoomed effect skyscrapers as well

Seriously I like it – its abstracted enough to leave the subject matter up to the viewer, while being peaceful enough in terms of colour and tonality to have a sort of appealing zen about it – and how pretension does that sound

All the best
Matthew
