Fur Seal - Saint Paul Island, Alaska, USA
EOS 10D, 300mm, 1/100, f/11, ISO 400

Another image from the Seal Blind on Saint Paul Island in Alaska's Pribilof's. The only problem with the blind is that the seals know you are there and can see you pretty clearly - its more like a human cage to keep you from getting killed. Whenever you get to the edge and look out, these guys get pretty upset. This one attacked me as I was in the blind - I snapped this shot just before he came toward me trying to get at me while I was wholly in the blind. This shot is a clear testament to IS - a 300mm shot with a 1.6x crop factor camera and no tripod that is totally sharp.

Cool shot EJ. Incredible detail. I love those eyes but those teeth look pretty sharp.

the gums look ok, but I think he needs either a filling or crown.

cool shot, lots of visual impact. So much detail you can see an irregularity in the cornea of the right eye.. ha!.. Good thing for the blind. We all heard about the biologist that fell off the cat walk into the rookery... I would not want to be on the business end of one of these guys... Good going EJ

For some reason your title is cracking me up. I love all the details especially the pointy teeth. I also think this guy looks scary!

Nice image but I think if you go in even tighter on the right and left side this will look even more dramatic and in your face.

That's no cute cuddly seal  Great shot. Those eyes look possessed. You could have saved this one for Halloween and easily won the scariest photo of the day.
