Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Birds Gallery, week ending 25th November, 2011!

I was recently able to finally see/photograph a snowy owl for the first time ever! I was pretty happy when Jess Findlay and I had this one land on this nice piece of driftwood!

Wow Connor. Magnificent lady. Great setting. Might crop to put her a bit more off center but love everything about this image

I hear they're starting to come down. Was thinking of heading up to BC to look for them, but the weather's turning lousy again.

Lovely light and setting, Connor.

Hey max, they're on the washington coast right now. and you dont' have to compete with a bunch of photogs. I may head down there soonish to get away from the crowds.

A real beauty Connor. You must have caught this early before the crowds arrived there. Sure wish we had them over here where they can be photographed. I think the light, setting and comp are perfect. The bird is just a tad hot for my tastes, and I would tone down the brightness a bit.

Really nice Conner. Of the few times I've seen these owls, they seem to land (on the ground anyway) with some kind of obstruction or grass in front of them. Well done.

Great find!
Such a striking bird & in a beautiful environment.
I'm presuming that this shot was taken at last light, but feels a bit hot to me.
