Peyto Lake
Banff NP, AB, Canada
From the overlook at Peyto Lake. I love the color of the glacial lakes, and it was ever-changing in the different light.
Canon D30, 17-40 at 25mm, 1/90 at f/19, tripod. Cropped very slightly on bottom and left.

Very nice!

I believe EJ posted a very similar shot several moons ago. I really like the deep view into the valley on the right balancing against the massive tilted sedimentary rock face on the left. The color of the water is amazing. I assume this is fed from a glacier...

Certainly a nice (but typical) shot of Peyto lake! The sky is nicer in this than in the shots I have of this.

The shot that EJ posted a while back is spectacular in that instead of showing the colour of the water, as in this shot, the conditions were perfect for a reflection, and the colour of the sky is shown in the water (as well as the reflection of the mountain).

That lake is so cool. Thanks the glacial silt suspended in it. Great shot.

This is the classic Peyto Lake image and it is done really well. Too bad the water wasn't calm for a reflection. That has only happened to me once in about 5 trips there.
