Hello,

I in the market to purchase a projector for presentations. Does anyone have any recommendations for a reasonably priced projector?

Costco has Optoma Projectors and they seem to be max bang for the bucks. I have one, and most of the photo clubs around here have switched over. I presented at Duke University and compared their $40,000 projector to my $800 Optoma and we thought my cheapy was far better so went with it.

The key is not to assume any laptop or desktop will work with it. Designate one computer to it. It takes some experimenting to learn the best brightness, sharpness and color balance to format your images in photoshop. The good news is the newer projectors look pretty good right out of the box. The older ones often had a nasty green cast nearly impossible to eliminate.

Another vote for Optoma. I have one and while not perfect it is a great little projector for under $1000.
