Kodiak Bear
This is the last thing you want to see when photographing these bears, a glance towards the camera noise, the wind had died down and the shutter click was heard by this young Bear, At this age Grizzlies are called Hooligan because they are at the most troublesome stage on their life, I don't know if this term applies to Kodiak Bears, Maybe this one is a Kooligan!!! Not knowing what the noise was, he made a bee line towards our hiding place at full speed, little did I know it was a false charge just to startled the opposition, whatever it was!!, I was too busy taking cover to press the shutter, so no images of this action was captured, It is impressive to see that muscle mass take flight as if it was a bird, close to 500 lbs of pure energy coming towards you at 40 MPH, I was lucky to have some spare diapers at hand!!!, Once he realized we were humans he back tracked at the same speed towards the tall grass!! D1x, Raw format, Lens=70-200mm afs-VR + 2X Teleconverter, FL=400mm Manual exposure, 1/500sec-f/6/3, EV=0, ISO=200, WB-Auto, No Flash Any and all comments welcome!! Alex Calzadilla
