Taken in the Serengeti in 2001. Small crop from right. Think I got rid of the blue cast here.

For the first time since June30th I have cable back at home! No more 26.4k speed! :) :) :)

D30, 100-400 at 400, ISO 400, 1/400 at f5.6. With 20-20 hindsight, f8 or f11 would have been nice here.

Comments, reposts, suggestions welcome.

Rich

I like the intense stare of the front one, and especially that drool dripping from the larger. Yes, a bit more depth of field would have helped you.

Nice shot Rich. I like this one a lot. The baby seems to have a 'are you looking at me?' expression. I am glad to hear you have your cable back.

I LOVE giraffe faces! Look at those eyes, don't they make you melt? I love the poses and expressions here, and the drool... agree on more DOF and I also think this could use some warming and contrast boost.

Nice head shots. These look like Masai giraffe. Could use more DOF as you noted already.

I like this composition and the way you've cropped the 2 heads. Only thing I could ask for has already been asked- dof. The expression on the little one is cute.

I'd like a little more room infront (to the left). It looks like you shot these chaps at a waterhole (the drooling of mom) Have you got a photo of her drinking?

Geurt.

Nice shot Rich, just a little more DOF to sharpen junior's face and this would be great!

Geurt, I have a couple of drinking shots (well, a couple dozen :) ) and will likely post one in a couple of days.
