Augrabies Flat Lizard, Platysaurus broadleyi, female, Augrabies Falls NP, South Africa, November 2002, Eos 3 + ?, bean bag, Sensia 100

I haven't posted pictures for a while. Too busy. This motif is one I can't pass on, therefore here is one of my South Africa pics. I'm not pleased with how the colours came out of the scan. I have to get the warmth back into it.

The males of this species can be very colourful (see my website), but I liked this shot better. I hope you like it too.

The only thing I'm not so sure about is the tail going OOF. Would you have liked more DOF, so that the tail would be more IF? Or does this work like it is supposed to do?

Thanks

Cheers

Peter

Works for me as is but a little more DOF wouldn't hurt if you could have managed it. I'm not so keen on the frame though.

I like it as is, but agree a little more DOF wouldn't hurt. Nice shot with good detail and I agree with you that a little boost in saturation/colour would warm this up to a more realistic colour tone. A touch of USM coupled with the warmer tones would really bring this one to life! 8) 8) :)

Nice image. I like how the subject is looking right back at you. A little more DOF to get the hind legs sharp would be great, the tail doesnt really matter to my eye.. Nice post and thanks for contributing.

Nice motif shot. Increased DOF would make it a lot stronger.
