Black Leopard
Captive
EOS300D, Sigma 100-300 F4 + 1.4TC, ISO 200, f5.6, 1/79 -1. 550EX -1.

Another from the private collection of a rare Leopard conservationist. I know this is not a good image of this magnificent cat, but I hope it helps to convey the awesome 'presence' of these spectacular animals. This male and his mate were very cautious and almost constantly on the move, making photography extremely difficult. Shooting through the enclosure in bright sun did not help either. When, after being there for several hours, we had gained their trust, they decided to lay down right against the front fence, so being just inches away made it possible to touch them! we resisted!!, but impossible to take a picture!!

All coments and critiques always welcome and appreciated and thanks for looking.

This is the only decent shot of him that we got. They were either spitting and snarling at us as we approached or, after they had settled with us, sitting against the fence

Catching this one as he was pacing up and down waiting to be fed was not an easy thing to do. Specially considering you shot a moving subject with a 300D...

It wasn't so much the thought of what they might do to us Mike (although we are never silly around big cats), but it would have been a violation of their space without their specific invitation. :)

ROFL! If you can reproduce that look on "kitty, kitty" I want to stay out of your neighborhood! ;) Wish for vertical and more room at the bottom but those eyes are mesmerizing. So intent & popping off the page. Well captured.
