Yellow-bellied Marmot
Rocky Mtn National Park, CO

My first wildlife outing in a while this past weekend- will save a few more for next week's motif!
This marmot was sitting almost under an informational sign at one of the pullouts on the Trail Ridge Road. He stayed for a long time, even after a tour bus full of people came by. I was on my stomach on the path to shoot him while he busily dug roots from around the rocks.

I like it. I really like tight closeups (and they are fine!), especially on rodents, but it's good to see someone doing more environmental images.

Good job of getting low, also.

It's nice to see something a little different Cindy. You've done extremely well with the framing. Congrats

Very nice! I really like enviromental shots like this. You were really close to get this with a 17-40, even with a digital body.

I really like this one Cindy. I have a bunch of Yellow-bellied Marmot shots from Yosemite, but never thought to try one with a wider angle lens. Of course I also didn't have such a dramatic backdrop from where the guy I photographed liked to hang out.
