Hi everybody,

after some attempts with a camera trap setup (Canon 20D + Trailmaster unit) placed along a wildlife trail for about one week, I got frustrated by the short battery lifespan and long "waking up" delay of the Canon 550EX units I've used. So, I did some research and it turned out that even at National Geographic, camera traps are used connecting Nikon SB-28 strobes to a Canon DSLR, which seem to have a better response in such conditions. Does anyone know how this could eventually work (i.e. sync cords/cables necessary to connect and fire the flash manually)?

Cheers and many thanks in advance for any suggestion!

Ah, this is an easy one! You can set the Nikon flashes in SU-4 mode and they will basically trigger (optically) whenever any other flash goes off.
