I've come across some slides that are screaming to get digitized. A quick check revealed the Epson V700 has good reviews, of course it's on Epson's website, what else would one expect? I'll bet there are plenty of NSN'ers who've found themselves in this same situation and have recommendations for a good scanner. I'd love to hear them! TIA!

Sidamo, I use a V700 slide scanner for my 4 X 5 slides and negatives. It does okay. I scan most of them at a maximum of 2400 pixels per inch. For my 35mm and medium format slides I use a Nikon Coolscan 9000. It can scan up to 4000 pixels per inch and maintain the quality. Even though the Epson V700 and V750 advertise up to 9600 pixels per inch in the tests I've done there is no improvement in image quality above 2400 pixels per inch. In addition the Dmax is not as good on the Epsons as the Nikon and neither is anywhere near what they advertise. If you plan to scan only 35mm slides I'd get a dedicated slide scanner such as one of the Nikon models.
