Out shooting wildflowers in South Texas and discovered a pair of rattlesnakes in ritual combat. Between my wife and I we took over 900 captures in the span of about 45 minutes. Here's one of combatants...

Trey,

Welcome to NSN and the Wildlife forum. Fantastic shot. I really like the comp but the tongue puts it over the top for me. I checked out the shots on your website. What an incredible experience that must have been to see and photograph. Great series. I hope we will see more of them posted either here in the Wildlife forum or in the Photo Essays forum.

This is a great shot! Nice to know you didn't shoot it with a 28mm lens!

Trey,

FANTASTIC! and a big welcome to NSN! I was in the Valley last month for a couple weeks and didn't see a rattler until the last day and it was dead in the road. :(

Amazing shot!

Excellent! I love the way the snakes body "wraps" around the cactus pad. Well done!

Great series Trey, it must have been amazing to witness this!! I do like this shot but wish for a little more DOF to keep the head sharp as the POF seems to be on the cactus in front. 8)
