From 35,000 feet with a clean window. Red sandstone, cliffs, river, sandy areas, and a clean window seat.

This is a crop of the central cliffs showing the detail.

The hazy sky doesn't do anything for me. I like the cropped version much better. Even the original with the sky cropped out works better.

I like both but prefer the original with the top white part cropped. Is this in the Painted desert somewhere?

Very nice! I like both versions; I understand what you're doing leaving the sky in and it does help tell a story but I agree it doesn't enhance the image artistically. The crop is nicely dramatic and for pure attractiveness that is my preference.

The question in the title, "Where" is for me also. I was a passenger, they did not announce where. It might have been over any red sandstone area between Florida and Los Angeles. Anyone know. This is wierd since someone could probably identify it from the ground.

I find the cropped image more interesting as the wan sky doesn't do all that much for me but that's just me.

Everytime I fly the windows are foggy, dirty, scratched and more. I am jealous.

Interesting shots! The first one I'm not too crazy about...too much blown sky. The second is difinitely better.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.
