White Rhinoceros Ceratotherium simum
Captive

Last Sunday we went to a different wildlife park to see what else we could take piccies of. I was determined to come away with some different perspectives. I had wanted to get a shot similar to this in the wild, you know, laying down in the way of a charging rhino and taking pictures...but somehow I don't think that's going to happen
So this was the perfect way to get close enough to take the shot without scary the rhino or me

Comments welcome and thanks for looking.

Now that is up close and personal! This is an excellent image showing the broad flat mouth of the white rhino, a grazer...in contrast to the more rounded and more prehensile lips of the black rhino, a browser. It looks like you have afew very nice wildlife parks in your area for practicing your photography while you wait for your next trip. Thanks for posting in Wildlife.

Having watched you take this shot, its great to see the finished result. You know I'm not a Rhino fan!!! but I do love the impact of this very original in-your-face image.

Love it!! 8) 8) 8)

My very first impression on seeing this was the word "Dangerous!" Something along the lines of "How nature says 'do not irritate'". :) Lots of impact in this image.

Dave, great job capturing this rhino and all its, um, beauty, or lack thereof. The menacing expression, caked mud, and horn all work together to create a sinister look.
