Not your normal Wild Goose Island shot from Glacier. This was shot at Sunrise from another overlook looking to the East. Wild Goose Island is the dot in the center.

hey ken

very unusual. I'm wondering if you cropped the sky from the scene if it's not more appealing though. the foreground is so killer, I think the image with just that rock, the smoth blue water and the edge of the dark shoreline work better for me.Again, what a fantastic f/g.

Cheers

Carl

I know EXACTLY where you were for this shot .. way cool!

Awesome foreground Ken with great colors in the sky and water. If i look hard enough, I can see a row of photographers lined up on the far shore :) .

Nice shot, Ken. Very well composed. I would consider lightly dodging the foreground (you appear to have the detail for it).

Re your signature...looks like you've been taking spelling lessons from Dan Quayle.

Very nice, peaceful image.

And, to answer your question about my photo, the body of water in the right foreground is Bolinas Lagoon.

Ken,

I like this very much. The deep blue/violet really set a calm mood. I also like the sweeping patterns coming off of the mountains on the left.

This is indeed a different view Ken. I think the foreground rocks complement the shape of the distant peaks very nicely. Strange but appealing colour pallette. The island is almost a distraction here.

Overall, I really like this a lot. The color, especially in the foreground, makes it stand out.

I think I'd go the opposite of Carl and get rid of some of the rock below. It's just a tad bit too heavy for my tastes, and feels more balanced with less of it.

Ken, the colors here are gorgeous, and I really like the foreground rock, especially with the that interesting texture.

Ken,

This is great!
I love the mood. Dodging the FG just a tad might bring it out a bit more, but this is definitely nice as is too.

For what it's worth, I have separate adjustment layers for the FG rock and for the water/sky/BG so adjusting the light/darkness of each is eeeeasy. Can change it depending on my mood. :D

Also, I took many from this spot varrying the compostition so I'll dig a few more out and scan them...

Great job, Ken...like the bluish tone to the image and the composition is finely crafted.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.
