Maasi Mara, November, 2001

We saw this leopard in this tree the evening before with a very fresh kill and went back because the tree had little foliage. We were pleased to have a blue sky background. Stayed with it for quite a few hours.

EOS 3, 500 4.5 2x, Black's Fuji Sensia II 100, beanbag, full frame.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Nice shot! A little dark on the Leopard, but good catch of the movement. 8) :)

What I like the most, even more then the blue sky, is what appears to be the intent to make a jump, looking up with the back legs bent.... Thanks for sharing..

This shot has a lot of tension in the implied, impending action. I see a launch coming here.

BTW what is Black's Fuji Sensia II 100?

Excellent stance with the rear legs poised to pounce. I might try to lighten up the shadow areas with a bit of dodging.

Nice capture, Eleanor -- I really like how the shape of the leopard is complemented by the shape of the tree. I agree on brightening a bit, and maybe removing the vignetting in the corners in PS.

Nice anticipation of motion here. A little dark but otherwise and excellent image. Thanks for posting in Wildlife.

Thanks for your comments everyone! I am still having trouble with my monitor callibration and hope that the next ones will look better

Steve, Black's is a consumer level camera store chain in Ontario and maybe other parts of Canada as well. They are owned by Fuji and package their own film under Black's name. No one actually will say what the film really is but everyone assumes that it is Fuji Sensia II. I used them because pro film is prohibitively expensive to buy here and processing is more so. They gave (give) me an excellent deal on their film because I buy 25-50 rolls at a time. Processing is included
