Alright, he wasn't waving. He was likely warning us to keep our distance, which we did since our boat was already treacherously close to the rocks.

This is another image from my annual Tom Jordan Memorial Boreal Coast Tour. The nearby northern Atlantic coast enriches my life beyond measure.

Canon 300mm F2.8 AF IS with 1.4X on EOS3, F4 @ 1/500" on Provia F, handheld. Minolta incident light meter. (motion of photographer in boat hopefully not apparent)

Peace, and may the light be with you.
Gustav

Faultless to my eye. A very successful image. I really like the stringy stuff (very technical I know) on the rocks.. Thanks for sharing your photographs in the wildlife forum..

Amazing sharpness for shooting 420mm from a moving boat. Beautiful capture.

Great shot, Gustav -- the light is perfect for this situation and you achieved perfect composition and sharpness from a moving boat. Well done.

A beautiful animal nicely imaged, and that shag carpeting is a bonus. :)

Beautifully done image! I also like the shaggy resting place. It looks a lot more comfortable than bare rock.
