Photographed at Ranua Wildlife Park, Finland.
Thanks to our guide we were allowed in the large lynx enclosures, but getting a shot without a fence in the BG proved to be a challenge.

Canon 10D, 500/4L IS, Gitzo 1325+1380, 1/500 @ f/5.6, ISO 200

Thanks for looking...

Awesome shot of a beautiful cat - just wish the watermark wasn't so prominent.

Just beautiful, perfectly framed and tack sharp. Snow seems to go well with fuzzy cats.

Well done Bart. Beautiful cat with excellent detail. The snow puts it over the top.

Excellent image Bart. You caught a good, attentive posture in the subject, and I particularly like the way you've rendered the fur; I would be interested in learning what sharpening technique you applied for posting.

Best wishes.

That's excellent! The snow really makes the shot- not to mention the wonderful pose. Great job keeping any distracting elements out of the frame.

Thanks for the comment Phil! I applied USM (100/0.2/0) about 5 times, then used the Creative Sharpener Brush (medium edges 2) of PK Sharpener on the face of the cat, and finally I used the fade tool and set the opacity to 50%.

I think PK sharpener is a fantastic sharpening tool for printing, but I haven't been able to get good results for web images. What do you think about this?

Regards,

Bart

This is exactly my experience with PK sharpener. I tend to use the Capture Sharpener at the start of my workflow, but tend now to omit the Creative Sharpener, which often oversharpens fur. The Output sharpeners also seem to over sharpen and generate a lighter tone in images for web posting.

Good to see posting over here :)

Best wishes
