Taken in the Mara. Canon Eos 3 500 f/4.5 x 1.4 Fuji 200 print. It's very hard to get the eyes on these guys and this is one of the few where I did. This is full frame - I wasn't sure if I should crop out the tree trunk. Steve

Beautiful shot Steve. The eyes are just about as good as you can get. I like the tree as it frames the shot and give a sense of place...The few little twiggies over the shoulder could go but you cant have everything...the face is clean which is really what matters most.. Excellent work and thanks for contributing to the motif this week..

The tree stays

Excellent shot of a beautiful cat. Well done.

This cat's cute! I like the trunk in there, it gives a reason why the cat's face on our left is a little dark.

It's interesting to see the one ear turned around the other way (at least I think it is). Judging from the cat's expression, something back there was making a bit of noise.

The eyes look good and show the cat is not at ease, at least temporarily. Might consider a levels adjustment to darken the image a bit. It seems a little overexposed

Juli - I agree. It looks overexposed to me also, but it looked much better on my monitor when I prepared it for this post. Then I sent it in and it was lighter when posted. Oh well, although I forgot to convert it to sRGB. Do you think that was the problem? This cheetah had three large cubs with her and that's why she is so attentive. She was also looking for prey as soon after this she chased an impala fawn. Steve
