ACDSee Fotoslate 3.0

For anyone who needs to send out images in a template form, and up sample images ACDSee new Fotoslate 3.0 is a killer product. Whether you need top make contact sheets, greeting cards, calenders, or design your own templates this product makes it fast and simple. You can even make CD/DVD covers. And, the built in color managment is as accurate as can be.

But the big news is this-

From ACDSee release-

"The program's revolutionary ACD Clear IQZ technology is based on an algorithm that utilizes four different filters and is capable of enlarging an image to many times its original size with minimal loss of perceived image
quality. With this technology, users could resample a 75 pixels-per-inch (ppi) image to a 600-ppi image."

Download it free and try it for yourself. I have been using version 2.0 for sometime now and 3.0 blows it away.

It is for printing only, and the files are proprietary.

This is not an ad, I am only telling you about a product I have just tried and am completely excited over.

The scary thing is anyone can now download your 72 dpi image, and make a killer 5x7 and not a bad 6X9.
THIS HAS ME WORRIED BIG TIME! Try it for yourself

Hi Chas,

Wow, and I can see why this could be a worry to those with a lot of small images on-line. Makes a case for only putting low-res files on-line, since these could only be upsampled to large, low-res files, not really any more useful than a small one.

But why "It is for printing only, ..."? Isn't what this product really does is increase the overall pixel dimensions of the file? This should make the larger file usable for any purpose (such as larger on-line display), not just printing, right? Eg, a high-res 100x100 pixel thumbnail could be upsampled to a big, high-res 800x800 pixel image.
