A guestion about printing out forum topics. Often a topic contains alot of information that I find worth saving. However, when I go to print out a topic the right hand side of the window always gets cut off, even with margins set to a minimum. Other places on the net have a "print this page" option whaich somehow rearranges the text to fit on a single page width. I have cut and pasted into a word document, but this can get tedious. Does anyone else have this issue or is it just me?

Thanks

This is more a browser issue and is somewhat annoying -- from print preferences select Landscape then do your printing. Its a quick solution that limits scaling for an easy read as well as some whitespace for note taking.

When I want to save something, like critiques of one of my images, rather than print, I just save to my hard drive. I assume because it's for personal use only, that there shouldn't really be a copyright issue...

Assuming I.E. Do a File, save as and select "web page complete" under type.

I'm on the road so I can't test this but try two things:

One-Copy only the text from a thread by selecting it without selecting the header or footer of a page. For instance in this thread I will start my selection with Ken's name and end it with the last word of the last post. Once selected copy (Ctrl-C) and then paste into a word document. It should re-size and wrap all the text. I just did this and it works fine. Then print the word document.

Two- (this is the one I can't test because I have no printer with me) Select the same area as outlined above and then print but choose "print selection" in the print window.

Let me know if this helps.

FYI, printing discussions is fine but if printing image posts other than your own you should not print the original posters image, as this would be a copyright issue.

Greg,

Thanks, print selection worked just fine. For some reason that is one option I can never seem to remember, even though I have done it before. Time for a "Post It" note on my monitor.

I never print out anyone else's image critiques, other than for my own images. I do print out threads that discuss technique and computer methods. I assume that is OK.

Thanks all for the suggestions.

P.S. just remembered why I was thinking about this in the first place. Even though the print selection works OK if the topic goes on for multiple pages the you have to do the print selection action on each page. It would be nice to be able to print a topic all at once, which would facilitate 2 sided printing, save paper, etc.
