I once read a book on cyanotypes by Linda McCartney and decided to play with some of my images in PSE to try and create the effect. I stumbled onto a blue color I liked and applied it to some of my zoo pics. Some people like it some don't. But it is a series I will work on for many years to come. I call it my Blue Safari collection (BlueZoo is already trademarked).

This is one of my favorites in the series because of his relaxed demeanor. Bamboo is scattered on his chest.

I like the mood which works with the blue. I think it would be even more effective seen as a series, such as your working on.

Links to others in the series:
- Lions
- Elephant
- Gorilla Hands
- Aligator

All shot at Atlanta Zoo between Fall 2002 and Summer 2003.
Comments on the series or individual shots welcome.
Note on Gorilla Hands: The image was shot through the exhibit glass which was quite dirty, thus the grainy effect is caused by the dirt not digital noise.

Great shot and a very interesting effect. I will have to study the other images in your collection.

I remember this image, love the color tone here. Really makes it feel humanlike!
