With my F5, I shoot about 50-50 between manual and AP....

I still shoot in manual because for many years of using a Canon AE-1P, I never properly learned exposure, etc...

Cheers,

Mark in Austin

For landscapes and macro photography, I shoot everything in manual mode and spot meter. For birds, I've done several different things. If it's a quiet subject, I stick to manual everything. If it's moving, I try to go with aperature priority and spot meter. I spot meter pretty much everything because it's the only way I know and understand for exposure. But if I'm taking photos of our dogs and cats, I often go with manual focus and program mode for everything else.
