Thanks to everyone for the feedback on the other two images so far. I was going through my Denali slides last night and found a few more of this guy that I like so I'm going to have to do this again sometime. I still haven't had time to go through my slides from the trip and catalogue them.

My only wish on this one is that his fingernail wasn't cut off, although I think its just under the slide mount.

Thanks again for all the comments so far

Michael

Michael, this is my favorite of the ones you've posted so far. The squirrel really pops out of the background. I hope the rest of the claw is under the slide mount.

Hey Michael,

Gorgeous!

'Fingernail' or not, this is great. Sharp as it gets. I might crop a bit from the left, but I'm not a big fan of the 2:3 format anyway .. I really wish 35mm film was 4x5 dimensions. It doesn't matter much, however you present this, it rocks.

I bet this is great printed really large.

Cheers

Carl

Great shot- but I'm a sucker for tight portraits. Nice details and I like the look on its face. Certainly my favorite of the 3.

My favorite as well! I'm with Carl on the 4x5 format (both here and in general). Great detail; hope you've got the nail.

Very very nice. Lovely detail, excellent DOF and I really enjoy the blurred out background for tight in shots like this.. The nail was mentioned and is probably there or could be put back in PS if necessary. Thanks for your contributions and best for 2004.

Very nice - bring back the magenta and blue a tad and this would really chirp ;)

Fantastic shot. I like the idea of a 4x5 crop, but great as is.

I love tight shots like this one. It is my favorite of the three. The crop as is leaves room for type. Happy New Year and thanks for posting in Wildlife.

I'll be the odd one out here and say I prefer #2. I like the habitat in that one and unfortunately the fingernail was about the first thing I noticed here. Of course there is no question in my mind that this is still a keeper.

This is really cute. It might have worked a little better as a vertical, but nice as is. Wish you had the toes in there.
