Elk - Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada
EOS 1D, 70-200 + 1.4x @ 280mm, 1/60, f/5.6, ISO 250

The final shot from Banff for now is this Elk Cow that was walking away but when she saw me stop the car, she looked back to see what was up.

Hey E.J.,

Wonderful image .. very easy to look at. The grasses at the very edge of the frame are a tad distracting .. maybe tone them down a bit or crop just a sliver. I think the image is really well done though.

Cheers

Wonderful shot Ej. Your subject has a very relaxed pose, looking across the frame. What I enjoy most other then subject is the depth in this picture. The Elk is sharp as are some of the branches behind the eye with a loss of detail in the greens behind.. That coupled with the light here all come together for a very successful image IMHO.. Happy New Year and thanks for sharing in all the forums..

Great shot. Technicals look dead on (as usual) and the colors work well.

The warm light and saturated colors are great. And the elk looking over her shoulder with plenty of detail on the eye sure isn't too shabby either!

What is not too like about this one? Great shot EJ. You posted it a few weeks early though-the rear view motif is later in Jan.
