Hello, everyone. This buck is part of a small herd that lives on the hill behind our house during the winter. They're gradually getting used to our presence, and don't run off as fast when we go outside now. I was standing about 20 feet from the backdoor when I took this shot this afternoon.
The entire hillside was in shade, so I used flash to try to liven it up, but I can't decide whether or not this looks overflashed. I cropped this a bit from the bottom to get rid of some sage that caught too much flash, then took a little off the other sides to even out the composition. I also cloned out the second catchlights from the flash. 10D, 100-400 at 400, 550EX at -1, handheld. ISO 400, 1/100 sec at f/8. Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestions for improvement are always welcome. Tom
