Bugling Elk at Yellowstone - f/16 and luck

I accidentally left the aperture set at f/16. Immediately after taking this shot I realized my "mistake" and was about to trash this when it popped up clear as a bell on the LCD screen of my D60. I recall the shutter speed was 1/30 sec at ISO 100. Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L+1.4x used.

This worked out really well Dick! Love the hazy mountains in the BG and this really gives the feeling of the setting. Nice one!

Nice mistake :D I think the added DOF helps here to give it a sense of place. Amazing that his head and antlers stayed so still.
