Lacewing Butterfly (captive) - Westford, Massachusetts, USA
EOS 1D, 180mm Macro, 1/100, f/11, Flash, ISO 200

There is a butterfly house outside of Boston that I visited about a year and a half ago. It's a fun place to go shoot. Here is a Lacewing I photographed there.

This image matches your hat. ;) I love the butterfly. The vibrant colors are just beautiful and I really like the scalloped wings. I haven't seen this species at my local butterfly house. Hopefully next time!

Wow, what colors. The flowers are really bright. Wonderful shot of the Lacewing.

Lovely, EJ! Cethosia butterflies have electric color, and it's hard to capture it as well as you did here.

I was going to say something about the hat, but Laura beat me to it...

E. J.,

Beautiful photo. Nice colors and comp, I just wish for a little more separation between the wing and the background. Maybe Photoshop CS shadow/Highlight could pull a little more out.
