Well, I guess this wasp isn't all that hairy, but I did find this closeup very interesting. This is the last of my series. I appreciated the comments and suggestions and will use them again next summer when I go out looking again for life among the flowers.

Hi Linda. I love all the detail here and the patterns of the background. I think this is a great perspective.

Very nice. The wasp is nice and sharp and the exposure brings out the deails in both subjecs. A nice series.

Another nice bug on flower shot. What equipment are you taking these with?

E.J. all of these were taken with my Canon D60, EF 70-200mm f4.0L and 1.4X tele-extender at minimum focusing distance for my lens. I know that's kind of a non-traditional approach to this subject matter, but I get some good magnification so that the frame requires minimum cropping AND stay out of the way of insects that sting.

Wonderful shot and he faint outline of the leaves certainly adds to the image.
