I've been lucky to have visited Trinidad and Tobago twice for photo trips. For someone who likes to do a lot of macro of insects and spiders, it can be quite overwhelming in the rainforest there. However, I usually don't pass up an opportunity to photograph a jumping spider :D .

This is a very tiny ant mimic jumper. It was on the forest floor hopping about and waving it's front legs to mimic an ant's antenna. I used all the magnification I had to get this image size. I shot up a lot of film for just a few keepers. It's hard enough to spot these with the naked eye, let alone get a face portrait.
Image
Nikon F5, Nikkor 105mm micro, lots of extension, 4T and 3T diopters, SB-28 flash on flash bracket, Fugi Velvia, handheld.

He does look like an ant :) . You're doing some excellent work with these macros. I would also think this beats having your blood sucked.

This is excellent. The leaf as a stage for the spider really makes this one great! Good focus on the spider, too.

A very cool spider shot- good face detail. Must have been challenging to get this.

Very cool shot! He does look like he is giving you his best ant imitation! I didn't know how small some of these jumping spiders were till I saw your comment on my bumble bee post. Nicely done!
