Ahhh, cypress trees and reflections. My kind of photo. :) While I like the composition here, I think you could do much better by visiting the area at a different time of day. Early morning or late evening. See which way the light is coming through those trees and how the reflections are lit. This is also a bit overexposed so you might try bracketing around to see what gives you the best exposure (or since you are using the 10D, check your histogram). With the right light, those greens and golds could really shine. Also, beware of limbs that creep into the frame such as the upper left corner. It's hard around cypress trees to find an open window to shoot through but here you could have just gone a bit lower.

Looking forward to more posts from the St. Johns area, a place I would like to visit sometime.

Thanks for the comments. Time of day was dictated by the airboat operator, unfortunately. All good suggestions, though.

I like how it's composed but the light is too harsh like Jenny said. I probably would have missed the branch in the ULC too. :)

Looks like a shot with a lot of potential especially on a cloudy day. As presented it looks a bit overexposed.

Try cropping to just below that big highlight, I think it works much better like that.
