Moose chiropractors are tough to find, even in Anchorage with our large population of moose, so this guy was forced to really beat the bushes to find one.

Another possible medical device that might help this guy would be an artifical antler.... but the market is pretty limited. Or possibly an antler transplant...

I have a shot of him as he's about to enter this thicket in pursuit of a cow that was apparently just about prime for propagating the species. But this still shows the missing hardware reasonably well and its a whole lot more interesting photo.

EOS 3, 500/4 IS, tripod, Provia 100F, cropped a bit on the left.

Cool shot Tim. Your moose pictures make us slow down and study the picture for a minute. I like that.. Got the eye right where you needed it.. Well done.

He could always have an antlerectomy so that he was more balanced. then he would not need the moose chiropracter. Nice shot. I like how he is hidden but you can still see the all critical eye.

As already said, I like the clear eye. The unbalanced hardware adds interest and the look in that eye...

Tim, You framed it really well so the vegetation obscures some of the animal while exposing the important parts - the eye and one antler. I'll bet the unbalanced hardware does cause neck problems that would send a lot of people to a chiropractor.

Cool shot!

Interesting to see a moose like this in summer. Moose lose their antlers sometime in the winter (~January), and it shouldn't be uncommon to see an unbalanced moose then, but in summer it would be odd.
