Elk
Jasper NP, Alberta, Canada The elk herds seemed to hang around at the edges of the woods and around the town of Jasper, especially very late in the day. This one was photographed from the car that Dennis and I were riding in. I cannot remember if it was out my window or over Dennis shoulder on his side. Either way, thank you again Dennis for getting me in position for a lot of the 'car as a blind' shots. Canon 10D with 100-400IS @ 235mm handheld from an Explorer. ISO 1/800, 1/80 sec (thank you IS!!!) @ f/6.3 I wanted more DOF to get the ears in focus but I was already pushing the limits of ISO and 'shutter' speed so I had to be happy with getting the eyes and nose. Comments and critiques always welcome. Cheryl Ertelt
