EOS3, Sigma 28-70 2.8, f32@.5", 550EX rear.

My first attempt at waterfall shots. I'm reasonably pleased with the results for a first try but would be interested in your opinions on ways to improve it.

FWIW, it was a very overcast day and the light was quite dull. I would have liked more shutter speed but was maxed out.

Comments appreciated and thanks for looking.

I like the water effect. I don't see much detail everywhere else, I don't know maybe this is not a good time of the day.

An overcast day should give you lots of detail. On my computer I can see detail in the rocks. I just don't like the tree at the top breaking up the begining of the waterfall.

As has been stated, waterfalls are best photographed on overcast days. I agree with Ken on the tree. Finding an angle that eliminates it and going a bit wider with perhaps some foreground elements low in the frame would improve on this.

The tree also seems intrusive on the subject, the waterfall. Some might complain about the "cliche" cottony water as was done on a post of mine, but I like it.
