Stone-curlew - Burhinus oedicnemus This bird can stand steel for few seconds/minutes if she feels any danger nearby, this is the reason that you can't spot it if you are not aware enough. Her trick to protect the eggs or her little chicks is simply to move away from them and to attract the comer attention to her. In this picture I caught her before she was sitting on her eggs, you can see clearly how she is 'puffying' her plumage on her bottom before seeting on the eggs, in this way she is keeping the eggs warmth. P.s. The three dark stones (actually animal dropings) near the eggs are presents from the husbend... I hope you will like it. Eqp.
