Wow, utterly fantastic shot, Larry. Great in every way. I have never even seen one of these in the wild.

I am trying to keep an open mind about Bolsa but cringe that they will do damage at first in the "restoration." Hopefull, when they are farther along the creatures and people will benefit as the wetlands below are opened up and the oil rigs removed. I looked at the Google Earth map of the area and it is huge, much bigger than the area we used to photograph in.

Killer image Larry. I feel your pain and hope the birds find another suitable tree to nest in. Sometimes the motivations of others can make you insane when it affects wildlife in such a dramatic way. :x :?

I hate to think what things will be like 50 years or so down the road when so much of nature will have been destroyed. Sad state of affairs is right. :evil:
What a beautiful bird. That red eye is so incredible. I hope I get to see one in person one of these days! A great pose you captured. This is awesome Larry!
