Al this is really cool and original. I think it adds to the comp with them at varying degrees of focus.

The main subject is framed very nicely by the OOF birds, Alfred!!!!!!!!! Works for me.

They are tough to get as a group and make it work. For me, I like it but would much prefer them to be more in focus and spaced out if possible in a small group of 4 like this. The low angle works and the light is good. Having the one bird looking at you and in focus makes it work in this case. Nice work Al.

I'm on the fence as well, I think the birds are fine, the framing is nice and the birds arrangement also. No feet is a negative as is all the OOF foreground. If you has some FG sharpness it would anchor better, as is, it's a lot of OOF stuff and 85% of a sharp Semi P. BUT...it tells a damned fine story about what these little guys are all about, so it's a keeper.. :P

I think that if the birds in the back are all a tad lighter than the front bird it would stand out better. Darkest darks would be in the foreground.
