An Abert's Squirrel found here in Arizona, up to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. I thought I'd post this image just to compare the different coloration with the Colorado Abert's posted by Cliff. It's an interesting comparison.

35mm, 400mm f/5.6, tripod, ballhead, Provia 100P

All comments greatly appreciated. Thanks

Nice catch Alan, it certainly is different to Cliff's - didn't know there were so many colours other than red or grey. It's great to enjoy the images and learn at the same time!!

Excellent shot. I like the quality of the light. The ear tufts are fun to see as well as the entire tail. Nice work for sure..

Very nice Alan. It is difficult for me to achieve a pleasing composition when the animal has such a long tail. You did very well. :)

Wish mine had ears like this. I wonder if only males have the tasseled ears. This is similar to the light phase Abert's I saw, but they lacked the rufous back and I think the contrast between the gray and white fur was greater.

Never knew Abert had a squirrel :) and now I've seen two shots in a couple of days. Love those tufts!
