Hi all,

Continuing the theme from my previous post, this time with the big cousin. this bird had just "pranced" half way across the pool to lunge at this fish...

Beautiful color shapes and patterns. The lack of a discernable 'eye' makes this much more abstract than your others, but I think it gets all the energy it needs from the strong diagonal of the wing and neck - coupled with the neck splash.

I find this most intriguing and beautiful as well. Love those water ripple reflections off the wings. Well done!

Gorgeous compositon, exposure and time of day to get this shot. However, I would prefer to see the eyes of the bird.

Really strong image Alister, the action coupled with the dramatic pose & lighting make this work even though the eye isn't visible.

A dark bg and the orange brown water color provide a dramatic look to it. Placing the stretched wing tip toward the upper left corner in the frame is particularly pleasing here ...
Another great timing shot, Alister!

A beautiful capture - seeing the egret's eye would've made a great shot even better.

Wow what action you captured! Great lighting and I love the water color. Would also prefer to see the bird's eye but still a very cool shot Alister!

Very dramatic, Alister. The well-exposed bird against the dark background is very effective as is the pose and your composition.
