1D Mark II, Canon 300 2.8, X2, 1/800, f-6.3, iso 320, handheld, early morning sun.

These are HUGE parrots about the size of an Osprey. They have a majestic slow and elegant flight and they often call very loud but pretty melodic calls while flying. There were at least 60-80 of them in Centennial Park during this winter. They feed on the very nourishing pine seeds which they take out of the cones using their massive beaks.
I saw them flying with pine cones a few times till one early morning got lucky...

~65% of full frame.

Nice job getting this spectacular bird. The pine cone adds interest and shows behavior.

:) Great capture, Ofer! Man, those birds ARE HUGE. Love the downswept wings, sharp eye, angle of approach, and the "luck" you made for yourself. Bravo! :)
