The rain provides the motion in this fall foliage shot:

I and the camera got pretty wet. As my reward for being venturesome, the disc with the Av, M and EOS mode letters and symbols fell off (it's part of the the mode dial). What I shock when I got home. The mode dial was an empty cup. Fortunately it was buried in the bottom of my camera backpack... I'll be more wary about shooting in the rain now!

Hope you get the camera fixed so you can show us more nice shots like this. No nits from me. The rain is subtle yet effective.

I was in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan a few weeks ago. Got caught in rain, hail, snow and sleet. Great fun. I had just gotten a 1Ds and the weatherproofing was excellent. I sympathize with you about a 10D and weather. My backup is my 10 d. MY only real nit is that Iwould prefer slightly more DOF with a smaller aperture.
I like the shot, and the drops especially. very nice BG. You might consider a little extra saturation, if it pleases you. But, I tend to like slightly oversaturated shots, so it is my personal thought.

The color of the leaves contrast very well with the bg. The falling rain gives a soft, subtle dimension to the image.

Very well done!!
