First off, I just want to let you know that I did not put the leaf in there. My fence is full of maple leaves that got shortchanged on their one and only chance at a free fall. Darn, I hate when that happens! Anyway, I thought this looked kind of cool but what do you think?

I like the confinement of the leaf. Looks like a DOF issue on the right side. Looks a bit OOF.

Good eye to see this! I like it.

There's something about the composition that's bugging me, though, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I think moving the leaf up or down a bit in the frame might help a bit.

I'd also recommend a slight increase in contrast and/or saturation.

Mary, I like this EXACTLY as you have it. I spent the weekend looking for similar images and really appreciate the simplicity and muted color of this one. And I like it better flat than with more contrast.

I also enjoy reading others comments on these images. It's nice to see a diverse group with different visions and interpretations.

I like the comp and the contrast the way they are. Maybe just a touch more USM?

Thanks for the comments and suggestion folks. I value them all. I think the main thing I will work on with this image is to squeak maybe a tad more USM out of the right side where the fence wire looks a little soft and blurry. I forgot to mention in the post that I removed a bit of a greenish tint in the wood because it was that ugly chemically treated color. That probably accounts for the desaturated look but I like it over the sickly green color it was! :) Thanks again for your input.

I'm late to this one but I wanted to add that I really like the concept here. I'm a huge fan of the lonely leaves. :)

The bend in the wire provides a sense of where this leaf landed. Like the colors but would consider increasing the brightness just a little as there is quite a bit of gray in the image.
